Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026.

Whisky Centurion is a personal whisky review and editorial blog run by Chris White. I take your privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. This page explains what is collected, why, and the choices you have.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which articles are read and how the site is performing. Analytics is only loaded if you accept it via the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics scripts are loaded.

When enabled, Google Analytics may collect anonymised information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google does not share with me in full), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It does not identify you personally. Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again on every visit; you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

The site also uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly measurement tool provided by the site’s hosting platform. It sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device: it counts page views in aggregate (page visited, country, device type, referrer) without tracking you as an individual or across other websites, which is why it does not require consent.

Comments

If you leave a comment, the name and comment you submit are stored in the site’s database so the comment can be displayed once approved. Providing an email address is optional; if you do, it is never published or displayed and is used only so I can reply to you directly if needed.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you provide are sent to me by email so I can respond. They are not used for marketing and are not added to any mailing list.

Third parties

This site relies on a small number of service providers:

I do not sell your data, and I do not share it with anyone beyond the providers needed to run the site.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access the personal data held about you and to request its correction or deletion. As this site collects very little, in most cases that simply means removing a comment. To make a request, please get in touch via the contact page.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
